About / Bio Tom Bakker NSC (1989) is a Dutch cinematographer with a strong foundation in both visual storytelling and technical craftsmanship. He graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2014 and has since become a respected name in the film and television industry. With a background in photography, Tom brings a clear visual language to every project, combining an intuitive eye with a calm and collaborative presence on set.
His work is marked by precision, warmth, and a sensitivity to narrative. Whether working on a stylized fiction film or a dynamic documentary, Tom adapts his style to best serve the story. His portfolio includes projects like Bodem1 and 2, Kamp Koekieloekie, Haantjes 2 and That One Word – Feyenoord, each highlighting his versatility and ability to move fluidly between genres.
Tom is also known for his creative curiosity beyond the camera. In his workshop, he builds practical tools and unique lighting setups, blending technical skill with artistic flair.
