About / Bio Morris Maturbongs (1992) is an Amsterdam based director. He began his career working as an editor and later as an in-house director at various advertising agencies before taking the leap into freelancing. With that shift came a renewed creative freedom and the chance to fully develop his own visual voice.
Morris is known for his vibrant, uplifting style and his fascination with colorful, symmetrical framing. His work carries a playful energy, often disarming in tone, with a lightness that breaks down barriers and challenges assumptions. Humor, rhythm and an eye for detail give his films a distinct personality, aimed at inspiring and energizing the viewer.
Morris has directed a variety of commercial campaigns and made his debut in fiction with the short films ‘En leid ons niet in bekoring’ and ‘Cirkels’, both marked by his signature tone and strong sense of style. He is currently working on a youth fiction series for Zapp, continuing to expand his work into narrative storytelling with the same curiosity and visual flair that defines all of his projects.
