About / Bio Jim Deddes (1986) is an actor and creator from Amsterdam, known for his wide range of characters and sharp, surreal style. He studied at the Amsterdam Theatre- and Performing Arts Academy, where he met Jan Hulst. Together they formed Joardy Film, a makers duo behind a string of absurd and brilliant sketches, series, and the cult-favorite Joardy Season for VPRO. Almost every role is written by the two and played by Jim himself.
His signature mix of awkward humor, emotional honesty, and total commitment makes his performances unforgettable. Beyond Joardy Film, he’s starred in comedy hits like ‘TRECX’ and ‘Niks Te Melden’, and shown his dramatic side in ‘Mocro Maffia’, the war film ‘De Oost’, and the gabber drama ‘Hardcore Never Dies’. For the latter two, he received Gouden Kalf nominations for both supporting and leading roles.
Jim moves effortlessly between comedy and drama, between total absurdity and something deeply human. With his fearless approach and original voice, he’s become one of the most exciting and unpredictable actors in The Netherlands. He is currently developing his debut feature film, both as writer and director.
