About / Bio Eva Heinsbroek (1991) is a cinematographer known for her attention to detail, sensitive imagery and love for psychological narratives. After studying Film Studies and Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, Eva specialized in Cinematography at the Netherlands Film Academy, graduating in 2018. Both of Eva’s graduation films won the Wildcard Award for Best Student Film at the Netherlands Film Festival and have been screened at numerous film festivals around the world.
The short fiction MARLON BRANDO Eva shot with director Vincent Tilanus had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, was selected for Toronto International Film Festival, was nominated for a golden calf for Best Short Film and won several prizes including the Go Short VEVAM Award. For the series THE STRAAT, Eva shot the imagery for the episode HEARTBEATS, for which lead actress Laura Bakker won a golden calf.
Eva loves the mix between fiction, documentary and commercial work and shoots digitally as well as on analogue film. Whilst based in Amsterdam, Eva also shoots abroad, having filmed shorts and documentaries in several countries including Switzerland, Iceland and Israël.
