About / Bio Dennis Vanderbroeck’s (1990) eponymous Studio creates spatial installations. Where “spatial” refers to the design of commissioned spatial related projects and “installations” to the creation of autonomous installations for artistic purposes.
Spatial Design: spatial/ˈspeɪʃ(ə)l/spa·tial | \ ˈspā-shəl. An area of design that focuses on the space between interior and exterior environments, both in the private and public realm. A discipline that creatively combines cultural and artistic awareness, social engagement, economic responsibility and technical insight.
On an international scale and with its hyper aesthetic visual language the Studio designs physical spaces in which a dialogue between the designed space and visitor is key. The Studio operates in various contexts such as theater, fashion, fine art, and music. It has previously collaborated with Y/Project, Internationaal Theater Amsterdam, Palais de Tokyo, Yung Nnelg, Toneelgroep Oostpool, and TENT Rotterdam. Studio Dennis Vanderbroeck is based in Rotterdam but as mentioned before it operates across all boarders.
